Hello Members and Volunteers,
Time flies when we are engaged with PMI and making a change for the betterment of all Project Management professionals.
The board is busy planning and completing important tasks for the chapter. One of the most important tasks for the board is to close the books for 2018 and file for taxes. Our Finance Team is working relentlessly to ensure that the books are closed, and taxes are filed. We are very close to the completion of this task.
Next is to update the financial policy so that we have good governance of the chapter finances.
I am happy to report that we have crossed the 2000 membership mark. Thank you all for helping us to get to this milestone.
Our presence in social media activity has been increased due to the dedication of our Marketing volunteers.
We have also kicked off the project for celebrating our 45th Anniversary. Please reach out to us if you would like to be a part of this important project.
We had a successful business meeting during our January Flagship meeting where we shared our 2018 numbers and 2019 plans. We also celebrated Valentine’s Day with our members during the February Flagship meeting. I hope to see many more of you during the March Flagship meeting.
As you all know we have different satellite meetings throughout the Los Angeles area managed by our Programs Team, and we have been working hard to make those events beneficial for our members. Please attend the events and give us your feedback so that we can make them better. We do believe in feedback loops and take lessons learned seriously.
We also have had Professional Development events in January and February and there are more coming in March and beyond. Please check out our website for more of our Professional Development events and get engaged. Members get discounts and it is always great to have a certification from PMI. I have three so far as I value the certifications from PMI.
Thanks to our Technology Team for working hard on research and analysis to make our technology more robust. More to come on this. We will share information as it is made available.
Our Membership Team is working on membership data metrics so that we can serve our members and volunteers better. We are also planning for volunteer orientation.
Planning for career development and transition events, that will help our members and volunteers in transition, is underway.
We will soon reach out to members and volunteers virtually online so that we can have a direct communication between the members and the board. Please stay tuned.
I will report on our March and April accomplishments and planning in the next message in May.
Finally, I would request you to please follow us on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Meetup. This will help us to communicate with you more effectively.
