Better Together: PMI-LA Accelerates Its PMWB Journey

Social Impact Blogs

There is something that happens when the right people decide to move in the same direction. Energy builds. Ideas click into place. And what felt like a distant goal suddenly feels very close.

That is exactly the feeling inside the PMI-LA Social Impact Committee right now — because we are not walking toward Project Managers Without Borders (PMWB) alone anymore.

We recently joined forces with two incredible PMI-LA teams: the Outreach team, led by Angelo, and the Marketing team, led by Alex. Together, we are building a more coordinated and intentional approach to identifying, connecting with, and supporting PMWB-eligible nonprofit organizations in the greater Los Angeles area.

What does PMWB actually mean?

PMWB — Project Managers Without Borders — is a program that connects PMI members with nonprofits that need real project management support. Not just extra hands. Your actual skills, your expertise, your professional toolkit — put to work for organizations doing meaningful things in the world.

With Angelo's building new community connections and Alex's amplifying marketing reach, we are better positioned than ever to surface the right partnerships and tell the story of our work in a way that inspires our fellow members to get involved.

If you have ever wanted to put your PM credentials to work for social good — this is your invitation. Watch this space.
