PMI-LA is pleased to share an exciting external opportunity for members interested in clean energy, infrastructure, and emerging technology.
The Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI) is now accepting applications for its Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS) Fellowship, a free eight-week training program focused on the future of energy systems and grid optimization.
As Los Angeles prepares for major infrastructure initiatives leading up to the 2028 Olympic Games, microgrids and distributed energy management systems are becoming increasingly important. These technologies require strong coordination across stakeholders, systems, and resources — making them highly relevant to project and program management professionals.
What Participants Will Gain
Participants selected for the fellowship will receive:
- Industry-recognized certifications in Electric Industry Basics and DERMS
- Hands-on insight into microgrids and grid optimization
- Access to paid cleantech job opportunities and career development resources
- Potential financial assistance, depending on eligibility
This program is ideal for professionals interested in expanding their knowledge in sustainability, energy infrastructure, and emerging technology programs.
Why This Matters for Project Managers
As energy systems become more complex and decentralized, the need for structured planning, stakeholder coordination, and large-scale program management continues to grow. Programs like this fellowship offer valuable exposure to industries where project management skills play a critical role in driving innovation and sustainability initiatives.
PMI-LA encourages members interested in clean energy, sustainability, and infrastructure programs to explore this opportunity.
