Lee Mandley Volunteer of the Month: June 2020
Barbara Cooke, PMP | Ida Harding, PMP | Maria McHolland, PMP
The Bylaws Committee has served the PMI-LA Chapter throughout 2019 and early 2020 to work with the Board to update the Bylaws that had been in use since 2016. The 2020 PMI-LA Chapter Bylaws has been successfully approved by the PMI Global Headquarters, and subsequently approved by the Chapter members and published on the Chapter website on PMI-LA.org.
Leveraging the extensive knowledge and experience from their years of service to the chapter, the committee took great care to update the Chapter Bylaws to better represent the current state of the Chapter's mission and operation. Managing multiple iterations while carefully balancing the diverse points of views, as well as obtaining pro-bono legal review are volunteerism that PMI-LA chapter members will benefit for many years to come.
Great job and congratulations, Barbara, Ida & Maria!
About the Lee Mandley Volunteer of the Month Award:
Founding Director of the PMI-LA Alhambra Community Meeting located at DeVry, Lee was a Construction PM and a long time member of the chapter. He was the voice and liaison for the San Gabriel Valley members east of Pasadena. Lee was the first director to institute round table discussions on interesting Project Management Topics when a speaker had to cancel at the last moment. Since 2012, we have presented the ‘Volunteer of the Month’ award to a key volunteer who exhibits the outstanding trait of working “outside-the-box” to ensure that chapter operations are running smoothly in their area. This award was renamed later that year to honor Lee Mandley.
