Vick Madenian

In lieu of an abrupt and unexpected departure of the North LA satellite meeting lead, where the event seemed without a host, Vick stepped up and offered to help.  On Wednesday, May 26th Vick reached out to offer his assistance to step in and host the event of June 1, 2021, where 56 members had registered for the event in advance.  We warmly welcomed Vick's offer, thanked him for his comraderies and for his dedication to the chapter and its charter.  We offered Vick full support in this effort and worked frantically with him as he prepared to host the session. 

Vick hosted the session masterfully and with his usual professionalism.  The content-rich event was enjoyed by 43 members in attendance, and we received many praises for the well hosted and delivered session after the meeting.  Kudos to both Vick for hosting and for Keith Birch presenting an insightful and engaging topic.

Vick's very spirit to volunteer his time and talent in service of the community that he served for many years at the time of need without even being asked to do so is the essence of volunteerism in its finest and well worthy of the recognition of a VOM.

About the Lee Mandley Volunteer of the Month Award

Founding Director of the PMI-LA Alhambra Community Meeting located at DeVry, Lee was a Construction PM and a long-time member of the chapter.  He was the voice and liaison for the San Gabriel Valley members east of Pasadena.  Lee was the first director to institute round table discussions on interesting Project Management Topics when a speaker had to cancel at the last moment.   Since 2012, we have presented the ‘Volunteer of the Month’ award to a key volunteer who exhibits the outstanding trait of working “outside-the-box” to ensure that chapter operations are running smoothly in their area.  This award was renamed later that year to honor Lee Mandley.
