PMP Prep Course Recap: A Cohort Focused on Growth and Achievement

Chapter News

PMI-LA recently wrapped up another in-person PMP® Prep Course, bringing together a group of dedicated professionals committed to advancing their project management careers.

Held over five consecutive Saturdays at Mount Saint Mary’s University, the program was designed to accommodate working professionals while providing a structured, consistent path toward certification. Participants worked through guided lessons, practice materials, and real-world scenarios designed to prepare them for the PMP exam.

A Shared Experience

From the classroom sessions to the final day of completion, the experience was both focused and collaborative.

You could see it in the conversations, the questions, and the way participants supported one another throughout the program. Whether working through practice questions or discussing concepts together, the cohort created a learning environment that went beyond individual study.

The final day brought that energy full circle — with participants receiving their certificates and celebrating the milestone together.

  • Svetlana (SK) Averbukh

A Milestone Cohort

This cohort also marked a transition point for the program, as one of the final courses aligned with PMBOK® Guide 7th Edition materials. Future offerings will incorporate updated content reflecting the next evolution of the framework.

Why Programs Like This Matter

The PMP journey can be challenging, especially for working professionals balancing full schedules. Programs like this provide structure, accountability, and a supportive community to help participants stay on track.

With a proven approach that includes practice exams, study materials, and guided instruction, participants are able to build both confidence and readiness as they prepare for certification.

Looking Ahead

For many in this cohort, this is just the beginning.

Whether preparing to sit for the PMP exam or applying these concepts directly in their work, the skills developed through this program extend far beyond the classroom.

PMI-LA looks forward to seeing how this group continues to grow and contribute to the project management community.
