Topic: Leveraging Leadership Capabilities and Competencies for Career Transitions

speaker lew debbie

Join Debbie Lew for a discussion and facilitated workshop on leadership capabilities for promotion and transitioning into new careers whether at your current organization or after leaving your organization due to restructuring or seeking a new passion.

Do you need to master all the recommended leadership capabilities and competencies? Do you need different leadership skills for different situations? Which skills will help you transition into a new role and career? What does your leadership path and journey look like? How do you mentor and coach others that are at the crossroads of their careers and seek new challenges?

Debbie will facilitate fun exercises, informal conversations and questions to gain insights from participants and share insights from her experiences transitioning to different career paths. She has had more than seven careers prior to joining EY. At EY she has had the opportunity to be a leader in 4 different areas/practices before early retiring and pursuing a new career passion. She will also share the importance of leadership development through volunteerism.

In this session you will learn:

  • Leadership competencies that are applicable for your career transition.
  • The importance of personal branding; networking; coaching, mentoring and sponsorship especially in the new “gigging” world.
  • How volunteerism can facilitate leadership development and career transitions.
