Speaker: Dr. Rick Hefner
Topic: Organizational Project Management: What Really Works
In today's increasingly competitive global environment, organizations are constantly seeking ways to improve their capabilities and performance. They adopt strategies for delivering maximum value to their stakeholders, ensuring continued business growth, and maintaining a sustainable competitive advantage in their chosen markets.
Project management is key to this goal and requires alignment to the enterprise’s strategic goals. This is accomplished through a system of portfolio management, program management, and project management, termed Organizational Project Management (OPM).
This presentation will describe proven approaches for achieving strategic organizational goals through project management. Case studies and best practice examples will be provided, along with a framework for judging an organization’s OPM effectiveness. The material will be useful for project managers who want to support organizational strategies, members of a project management office (PMO), and anyone who seeks to maximize organizational performance.
