FLAGSHIP | Fireside Chat on Sustainability, Workforce Development and Project Management Professionals
This event is a collaboration between the Programs and the Membership teams. All registrants will receive breakfast and 1 PDU in Power Skills. The first 35 participants to register before the earlybird deadline, or once we reach 35 participants, will also be eligible for 2 hours of golfing as part of a team-building exercise. The golf package is non-transferable and can only be used on the day of the event.
Sustainability: The Field Every Project Professional Needs Now
Our members span nearly every industry: schoolteachers, architects, engineers, construction leaders, aerospace professionals, clinicians, entertainment creatives, and more. Whatever the field, we've got a project professional in it.
Except one. Sustainability is the space we're still catching up in, and that's exactly why this panel matters.
As of July 9th, the new PMP exam places greater emphasis on sustainability content. Our members need to understand it not just to pass a test, but to lead with it. This panel starts with why sustainability matters, with subject-matter experts from across industries helping to make that connection real.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:
- Explore how sustainability shows up differently across community development, cleantech, and healthcare — and start noticing where their own field might already be connected to it.
- Reflect on what it really means to understand community-level sustainability work, not just manage it from the outside.
- Consider the barriers — systemic, structural, and personal — that keep sustainability efforts from reaching the communities that need them most.
- Draw connections between the panelists' very different paths and their own experience, looking for the through-lines rather than a single formula.
- Walk away with new questions, not just answers, about where sustainability fits into their own work going forward.
Registration will close at 9 PM on 3 October 2026, and seats are limited to 50 participants.
