Creating and Maintaining a Positive Team Environment
Time and time again, research has demonstrated that when people get along, customer service, performance, reputation, and the bottom line all reap the benefits – a phenomenon coined “positive deviance” by author Kim Cameron. A focus on positive team culture is just good business. This session will provide insight into the damage incivility can cause a team, how and why the team allows uncivil members to take over, the psychology behind aggressive behaviors at work, and addressing the behavior effectively through assertiveness and communication skills.
Attendees will gain:
- Information to build the business case for building a positive team culture
- Knowledge about the four facets of “positive deviance”
- An understanding of “workplace bullies”, why they act that way and how to make them stop
- A list of tangible action items that can be implemented immediately
Speaker
Catherine Mattice is the founder/CEO of Civility Partners, an HR consulting firm focused on helping organizations create respectful workplace cultures. Her clients range from Fortune 500's to small business in a multitude of industries.
Catherine is an HR thought-leader and has appeared in such venues as USA Today, Bloomberg, CNN, NPR, and many other national news outlets as an expert. She’s an award-winning speaker, author and blogger, and has 17 courses on LinkedIn Learning.
