Social Impact: Volunteer at LA FOOD BANK
LOS ANGELES FOOD BANK
Approximately 1 in 4 people in Los Angeles County faces food insecurity.
Los Angeles County has one of the largest populations in the nation, unfortunately, it also has one of the largest occurrences of hunger. Hunger affects individuals from all walks of life. The most visible examples of people who struggle are fixed-income older adults, people with disabilities, and low-income families, but hunger doesn’t stop there. Hunger affects all groups of people regardless of education level, employment status, or ethnicity.
This is why we need people like you to volunteer!
Due to the soaring costs of housing, transportation and the rising cost of food and everyday essentials in Los Angeles County, many people who work, even families with two incomes, often can’t make ends meet or put enough good food on the table. This situation has broadened the number of individuals who are currently struggling with food insecurity!
By donating a few hours of your time, volunteers help us by cleaning, sorting and boxing perishable but nutritious fruits, vegetables and other perishable foods that are distributed throughout the LA Foodbank network of more than 600 agency partners to our neighbors in need.
COME VOLUNTEER AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE ! SUPPORT THE LA FOOD BANK TO CONTINUE TO SERVE THE GROWING POPULATION OF THOSE IN NEED THAT NOW NUMBER IN THE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF INDIVIDUALS EVERY MONTH.
