Webinar | Managing New Product Development
A high percentage of new product failures result from an inability to manage the uncertainty of conceiving, designing, and developing innovative products. This course will discuss tools and methods designed for the new product development (NPD) environment, including concept exploration, business case identification, customer needs analysis and requirements development. The application of agile development, lean thinking, and rapid prototyping will be discussed.
Attendees will learn to:
Determine the validity of the project requirements
Select the appropriate lifecycle approach
Ask critical quetions at each stage of the NPD process
About the Speaker
Dr. Rick Hefner serves as the Program Director for Caltech’s Center for Technology and Management Education, which provides training programs to technology-driven professionals and organizations. He has over 40 years of experience in project management and has worked with companies and government agencies in the aerospace, communications, electronics, and health sciences industries. He is credited with over 200 publications, and is active in several professional societies. Dr. Hefner has his BS and MS in Engineering from Purdue and his PhD in Engineering from UCLA.
