The Inner Edge: How Self-Leadership Values Drive High-Performance Teams
Power Skills
Led by Tiffeny Parker, Team USA athlete and leadership speaker, this session explores why self-leadership is the most critical skill for Project Managers in an era of accelerating AI and automation.
Drawing from elite athletic performance and real-world project leadership, the presentation connects high performance in sport and leadership through a shared foundation: a values-aligned self. While Project Managers excel at managing scope, schedules, systems, and risk, sustained success requires equal attention to the human dimension: energy, clarity, communication, emotional regulation, and values.
Participants examine how teams can meet deadlines and deliver results while still experiencing burnout, disengagement, and misalignment, and why “green dashboards” do not always indicate healthy leadership. The session introduces a human-first leadership framework built on three core traits: self-awareness, emotional agility, and communicative courage.
Attendees leave with practical reflection tools and a clear leadership commitment they can apply immediately — at work and beyond — to strengthen trust, resilience, and long-term performance.
