PASADENA | An Introduction to Excel/Office Automation for Non-programmers
Microsoft Office has been a powerful, though underutilized tool, in organizations for many years.
In this workshop, Matthew Moran, showcases some of the powerful automation features available in Microsoft Excel and provides a pathway for getting started with Visual-basic for Applications; Microsoft's automation programming language.
You will be introduced to the basics of recording and modifying macros (code)A number of important concepts necessary to take advantage of automation will be demonstrated. Also, Matt will showcase cross-application integration both with other Office products, such as Word and SQL Server, and with non-Microsoft applications and services.
Most important, you will be given the framework for an "automation mindset" that can be adopted for almost any tool you use.
Speaker: Matthew Moran
Matthew Moran is a 20+ year office automation and data analytics consultant. His project experience includes both small business and Fortunate 500 companies. He is also the author of, "Building Your IT Career: A Complete Toolkit for a Dynamic Career in Any Economy" - published by Pearson. The book teaches proactive strategies for career growth; focusing on business acumen, communication, innovation, and a value-add, solution mindset, as career differentiators. Matt is also a songwriter and performer.
