 The Pandemic Committee is still engaged in following the re-opening of Los Angeles County as we go thru the County guidelines.  At this point the chapter is not planning on opening up until further notice.  Check back for more information as it becomes available.

NOTE:  Do you need a digital copy of your Vaccination card?

As COVID-19 cases continue to spike in Los Angeles County, some venues and employers are beginning to require proof of a person being fully vaccinated against the coronavirus. Some employees, such as health care or state and local workers, will also be required to prove they've been vaccinated or can show a weekly negative COVID test. For those who wish to travel internationally, a growing number of countries around the world are now requiring some form of digital proof of vaccination.

If you've lost your original vaccine card, or just want a more convenient way to display the information, here's how you can get a digital card you can show as proof:

1. Using your phone or computer go to http://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov
2. Input your name and birthday
3. Provide an email address or phone number
4. Input a 4-digit PIN code to access your record
5. You will be emailed or texted a link. Open the link and put in the PIN code.
6. Screenshot and save / print the image to show to anyone who requires it.

If they cannot locate your card, you will need to provide additional information, and it could take 2-3 weeks to get your records to you.

Are you getting tired of living under COVID 19 restrictions, well so are we!  We want to hear what each of you plan to do in a Post-Pandemic world.  Climb Mt. Everest? Go see your family who live far from you?  Learn to play the guitar? Or just see a movie in a theater?

Step #1:  Click on the Instagram Icon and follow PMI-LA on Instagram!

Step #2:  Create a post about what you plan to do when “the world opens back up”!  The sky is the limit, put yourself in a picture, create a meme or video or just write down what you plan to do!

Step #3: Tag your post with #PMILAPostPandemic and @pmi_lachapter. 

Step #4 (optional): Share your plans with the world by adding additional hashtags like: #lifeaftercovid19 or #postcovid19

General Questions & Concerns:

Q1:  I am scheduled to take the PMP exam, how will I be affected?  Please visit the Pearson Vue Centers Coronavirus Update Page to see if your exam has been changed or if a center near you is open.  

There is an option to take the exam on-line at home.  There are strict restrictions on hardware and access and it must be a quiet environment, or the test will end.  If you think this is for you, here is the  information:

Q2:  What is PMI's response to this global crisis?  Click here for the latest COVID-19 information from PMI.

Q3:  I need to re-certify soon, will PMI relax their recertification policies?  At this time we do not have any information from PMI about this.  Please email customercare@pmi.org for more information.  There are virtual options available thru the chapter as well as thru a number of Registered Education Providers to help you get re-certified through this crisis.

Q4:  I am a displaced worker due to the pandemic.  Does PMI offer any considerations on dues?  PMI offers hardship assistance for up to 2 years.  Click here for additional information: Hardship-Case.pdf.  The PMI Glabal headquarters is CLOSED so do NOT mail your application.  Instead e-mail your application to membership@pmi.org and customercare@pmi.org for processing.  The PMI-LA chapter is offering all on-line meetings at a discount for members ($5 per virtual meeting) during this time of crisis, and reduced rates on career development events.

Q5:  Will In-Person meetings resume?  The PMI-LA Board is closely monitoring the situation around the Los Angeles area.   Please keep monitoring this website for the most up-to-date information.
