Understanding your stakeholders includes the capacity to be aware of, control, and express your emotions, and to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically. In other words, "Emotional Intelligence is the key to both personal and professional success."
Learning Outcome & Objectives
Attendees will learn about and be provided a tool to assess their EQ, as well as mechanisms to be aware of and handle stakeholder interactions more successfully.

Speaker: John Jones, Jr., PMP®, CGCIO™, ITIL
John Jones is an “Army brat” who spent his formative years in Germany working in the international marketing industry and eventually moving to the USA at 21. He has developed a specialized skillset for technology-related projects in the public sector and has held the positions of help desk technician, network engineer, project and program manager, IT Director and is currently the Assistant Director of IT for the City of College Station, TX. As adjunct professor for USC – Bovard College, Jones develops curriculum and teaches courses at the graduate level in Project/Program Management.
In a volunteer role, he has served on various technology and leadership boards. Aside from speaking engagements, Jones conducts workshops on leadership & teambuilding. He graduated from PMI’s Leadership Institute Master’s Class (LIMC) in 2015, was Region 7 (Southwest North America) Mentor 2019-22, and is currently on the DE&I Global Insight Team. Jones obtained his BA in Digital Graphics from CSU-East Bay and CGCIO from University of North Carolina @ Chapel Hill.
