Join us on Saturday, October 25, at the historic Bob Hope Patriotic Hall in Los Angeles for a full day of learning, connection, and inspiration at our Professional Development Day (PDD) — themed: “Human-Centric Leadership Amid Emerging Technologies.” Additionally, step in to opportunity! Our Career Expo is your gateway to new connections, career breathoughts and next level inspiration.
What to expect:
- Multiple learning tracks designed around the PMI Talent Triangle (Ways of Working, Power Skills, and Business Acumen) offering actionable insights you can apply immediately.
- At our Career Expo, meet industry leaders, explore cutting-edge companies, and discover where your passion meets purpose.
- Opportunites to have professionals review your LinkedIn/Resume and a photographer to capture your professional headshots.
- A Social Impact event where you build hygiene kits in support of the Fisher House and a clothing drive supporting Your Image 20/20 and Project Ropa: bring your gently worn clothing to give back while you grow!
Students of local colleges that are partnering with PMI-LA from Mount Saint Mary's, UCLA, USC, El Camino, and CSUN - please get a discount code from your local MBA/Project Management contact to attend this event at the same rate as PMI-LA Student Members! - Opening Keynote provided by PMI's Chief Marketing Officer, Menaka Gopinath
- 1st Breakout Sessions: Choose from topics ranging from "Mindful Habits for a Healthier Digital Life" by O. Leonard, "Project Management in Uncertain Times..." by Michelle McGee and "Agile at a Crossroads: Reclaiming Human Centered Project Leadership in an Emerging AI Driven World" by Mike Hogan and Katie Lai.
- 2nd breakout sessions: Choose from topics ranging from "Have We Forgotten Our People" led by Kate McGaw, "Balancing Digital Transformation and Human Experience in Airport Redevelopment" by Levant Akdag, and "From Insecruity to Insight..." by Dheraj Kota.
- 3rd breakout sessions: Choose from topics ranging from "Driving Strategic Value and Influence for the Modern PM," by Christina Gallegos or "Artifical Intelligence vs. "Real Intelligence: The Power of People in a Machine Driven World" by Samant Kumar.
PDUs
Attendees will be eligible to earn PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle. Final credit breakdown will be shared once speakers and sessions are confirmed. There is a maximum of 6 PDUs for all day attendnace, but some sessions will not have PDUs associated with them.
Clothing Drive at PDD
Bring clean, gently used clothing to support local nonprofits Your Image 20/20 and Project ROPA. Most needed items:
- Professional outfits (esp. larger sizes)
- Clothing for Men: pants, sneakers, belts, hats
- Clothing for Women: t-shirts
All donations support veterans and families in need. Thank you for giving back!
